This is not scary. The drones are intended to help chase criminals, and do it faster. We're not going to have "Colony" levels of police drones everywhere.
Well, I promise you, this technology is not laying the groundwork for future enforcement drones that will be armed in any way whatsoever. Even during desperate emergency situations in the inevitable severe social unrest that is to come, our societal leaders will not stoop to using future drones for aggressive control of citizens. There is no slippery slope.
