It's kind of funny how thousands upon thousands of man years have gone into research and development for stimulating the physical defects of camera lenses in the field of computer graphics. I spent months working on newer bokeh post processing effects to simulate exactly what this new lense will appear to 'fix'. We had to simulate problems in the lenses to give a movie feel to a game/cutscene, but if bokeh no longer appears film, then we'll have to remove those effects.

They will probably fix the chromatic aberration then include software that immitates it.

That is very true. Chromatic aberration is far and away the easiest lens effect to implement btw, but I'd expect some to be added in post.
