I wouldn't call using Nest an early adopter thing since it's been out for a few years now.
But onto the subject at hand, there is a reason I firmly believe that companies should never be allowed to buy other companies. This is just one example: You trusted one company because you didn't want another company to have your data and BOOM, other company now has your data.
Tech companies are going to keep it up with this nonsense and people are going to reject them entirely.
