Tesla says it's able to build these slightly cheaper cars by using the same battery pack as the more expensive, longer-range cars but with fewer cells inside (so no future software upgrades can increase their range at a later date).
Damned. Why would you need hardware upgrades to upgrade your car? That's so last century. Looks almost as they learned that underselling a model S75 as S60 with a software downgrade wasn't worth it.

How about "no"? Does that work for you? Standardize your features and leave them alone instead of rolling out 50 thousand different variants? I have better things to do with my life than to research the different versions of every single thing in my life?
