This just happened to my phone. Switched to ATT. Woke up to an update with no option to opt-out. I never clicked 'update' so after a day it just shut my phone off (for nearly an hour! what if I had an emergency?!) and left me with a super-fucked-up android. It's missing features, half my apps are gone, things I used are no longer there. I was given no choice.

To me this is as if the cable company broke into my house and replaced my fiber with their equipment. It's practically vandalism.

I'm not even sure this should be covered under an arbitration agreement. If an AT&T employee rapes my wife is that covered under arbitration too?

We need consumer rights laws like 10 years ago.

We need it but we won't get it because it is "bad for business", viz their lobbyists have bribed our "representatives".
