Somewhat off topic but related - I've been saying for years that computers need hardwired switches for mics and cameras.

This is true, but without open schematics and designs you really can't be sure those switches do anything.

In any case, nobody should have these spy devices in their homes.

I believe the new Purism Linux phone will be having hard switches for both of those. I'm looking forward to it.

Told ya. No wonder I find no good use for Amazon Echo or any similar device.

99% of the useful functions the device can do is equally easy to do with a bluetooth speaker and a phone.

The other 1% isn't worth having a wiretap in your house.
