Net Neutrality really needs to be treated more as a technical issue and less of a political issue. It's not some new thing. It's been a primary concept in the design of the internet since its inception. It's part of the reason the internet works.

Yes, that means forcing some companies to follow some rules that may impact their earnings. Yes, that means that we would be telling them what they can and can't do with their property.

Guess what? We do that all the time. We don't allow child labor. Why Not? Society has decided that's bad. We regulate medicine to keep people safe. We regulate automobile emissions to reduce pollution. There's lots of regulation out there. In fact, I think there's way too much regulation.

But, Net Neutrality is one of those rare cases where regulation is truly important. I want the internet to remain open to all people and ideas.
