Now that I think about it, does the American education system promote good sleep at all? I've heard "sleep early" before exams, but besides that, not much has been done to educate people on the long-term dangers of no sleep.

Everything in the capitalist system is designed to squeeze as much as you can from as little as possible. We are expected to perform at the peak of our abilities for as long as possible. Those of us who fall behind will simply be weeded out and forced to live in a horrible existence.

So no, I don't think the American education system promotes anything healthy. I do admit after my few years at university I have started to look at the world differently, in a more scientific manner if that makes any sense. But not once have I been exposed to material that promotes well being or establishes a harmonious relationship with our environment.
