This is something that I guess a lot of my history classes didn't cover, or maybe I just didn't fucking pay attention first year of college. The Democratic Party has traditionally been the racist party, and the Republican party the opposite.

Back in the late 1950's there was an alignment shift in the Republican Party to gain more white votes in the south, and people can presume this shift is still happening today.
