You gotta see Darbian fails, check his heartbeat rate when they happen.

Yeah it's pretty crazy. Darbian is actually one of the calmest runners playing at a high level too, he seems to slip into some kind of zen state when he's playing.

I started running smb1 a couple of months ago and discovered it's a very hard game to keep your shit together. That 8-4 music turns me to spaghetti.

Judging by the screen blur I would say NES. Most runners of the larger NES games play on NES.

There are a couple of different ways to capture NES footage but they're nowhere near as crisp as emulator recordings.

I tried to do SNES through a Avermedia USB capture card once, it did not turn out well at all. All kinds of blur, it was so hard to even decipher what was being drawn on the screen.

I've never directly captured any console, but I think it's getting a lot easier/cheaper to do. It has led to a few different speedrun communities to ban emulators for their game, mostly N64, but a few SNES games too.
