We saw that series in HS physics :-) My teacher'd been in NASA for ages and retired back to NJ and taught part time with a physics/science classes.
It's getting really bad. It wouldn't take much to cause a disruption in comms and travel worldwide.

Sure the idea is there, but it hasn't been done yet. And it becomes a necessity if we want to avoid the Kessler effect. There are multiple demonstration missions in progress, but it's good to see another motivator for such projects.
