i'm still not tired of watching spacex launches but i'm really looking forward to when the competition starts catching up

What are the implications of this Blue Origin announcement? I'm asking as an individual is totally ignorant to this sector. Do you think that there is room for the industry to become competitive without government subsidies?

well, this announcement doesn't really mean much other than keeping them in the press by saying they are on schedule for a inaugural launch in a year or two.

as for the second part, depends on what you consider a subsidy. in my opinion military launches and iss resupply launches are legitimate so i suppose its just that they got paid upfront for things there was no guarantee they could do that's a little off. i think the real question is will there be room for all these launch options when other countries' space programs catch up in cost savings.
