I really loved voat. I used to stop in when I had free time between work sleep and school. I was sadden when it died, but it was for the best. The alt-haters had ruined voat by then.

I hated the extreme stupidity and hypocrisy of the place - but I arrived too late. People say it was pretty good in the early days.

It truly was. I was in college at the time and working every free hour I had. So Voat was a cheap and decent source of entertainment. It started doing downhill when the alt-hate crowd migrated from Reddit and the holier-than-anyone-else crowd became unbearably prim and proper.
