I think it's only certain pesticides that are neurotoxins. Bayer made a lot that were like that and are assumed to be one of the primary causes of colony collapse disorder. Nicotine-based pesticides were actually banned a few years ago because of this.

IIRC pesticides are low-grade nerve poisons. Chemicals intended to damage insect nervous systems are damaging the nerve systems of desirable insects as well as the undesirable. Who could've guessed.
