I find it hilarious that researchers have to be so careful about how they describe the possibility of ancestral lineage being something other than the dogmatic "out of Africa" mantra that the anthropological community is forced to proselytize.

I'm supposed to believe that every other organism is subject to natural selection pressures except for humans. Whenever there's talk about the potential diversity of hominid species that converged through interbreeding, we're constantly reminded of "Adam and Eve" bullshit to make us think we're more closely related than we really are.

I mean, I get that people are terrified of racism right now but it seems intellectually dishonest to keep pretending like we can't rise above it.
