I merely point out it is not a level playing field

It gets complicated given the impulse driven consumer culture.

Should companies be allowed to develop such technology?

I'm not going to play this game. Your point is 100% irrelevant because the true heart of the matter is "Don't eat more than you need." It really, truly is literally that simple. You can point at anything you want in advertising, food manufacturing, packaging or whatever else but at the end of the day it boils down to "Don't eat more than you need."

what you say is totally true

what are the factors limiting the practical implementation of your solution?

Shouting at people that they are being stupid does not make them smarter, and does not always give them enough will power.

None. It's literally as simple as doing what you already know you should be doing. Why is this so complicated to understand?

Edit: will power fails because it implies that there's temptation. Temptation exists when you decide you want something you shouldn't. Just decide you don't want it. It is indeed the root of that.
