This just made me realize that I've very seldom encountered an autistic female. In fact I think I've only ever met males. Now this isn't some data set that I'm using to say that it happens more often than not in one sex than another. I'm just simply pointing out an interesting find for myself.

Well actually you would be correct in that assertion, males have drastically higher rates of autism:

The prevalence is 1 in 42 for boys and 1 in 189 for girls. These rates yield a gender ratio of about five boys for every girl.

Oh my god I wonder what is happening here. I don't study this science so I have no idea what to make a basic claim on. I wonder if its something in the chromosomes? Something linked to XY? But that wouldn't really make sense because females get it to.
