Americans who agreed with statements like “The United States deserves special treatment” in July were even more likely to agree with statements like “Much of our lives are being controlled by plots hatched in secret places” in November.

What does "The United States deserves special treatment" mean? Where might the US receive this special treatment?

When I take those "political spectrum" type of quiz, there seem to be a number of questions that don't make any sense on there own. I haven't done extensive testing, but I theorize that answering the "yes" puts you in the extreme and "no" makes you moderate.

If asked the "special treatment" question, I would answer no.

The "plots" question is also set up to make a yes repsonder sound crazy, but doesn't everyone think that's true? Half the country thinks a "plot" put the president in the White House, and the other half thinks there's a "plot" to remove him. Even prior to the election you could cite issues where left and right would find "secret plot" to be accurate, tobacco, unions, gun control, etc.

Also does narcissism necessarily denote the expectation of special treatment?
