The Department of Energy has attempted to limit the safety board’s oversight function for more than a decade

Of course a government bureaucracy pushes back against losing power. Yet during the Obama administration this was a goal too. Now it's finally getting done.

Is this the same manner though? Because some of these requirements such ad the board only being able to speak as one voice seems outragous.

If people on the board want to educate themselves or need further clarification they must waste more time by creating a meeting to discuss and post the question rather than a quick correspondence.

The Atomic Energy Act is from 1954, no surprise the methodology that made sense then doesn't 60+ years later.
