There's a great amount of posts here, and when I joined, why I truly enjoy Phuks, is because people tend to post with care and diligence. Most of the Front page is very very interesting in a natural eclectic manner (including the posters as well, people take their turn a bit here). It seems each phuker is in agreement that quality is much more important and so we pursue interesting stuff and never pollute.

We have no down vote culture. That is amazing. The only posts I've seen negative were actual marketing or spamming and what not, and that isn't very often.

On to what we shouldn't become: VOAT

One of the biggest problems with voat is that there are power users and an alt army that'll down vote you, so if someone really dislikes your post, they can sign in multiple accounts and down vote the same comment or post. I think we shouldn't ever encourage alts here. that's one of the SBBH issues that makes them look like lonely people trying to control.... I don't know... the free speech they think the people they silence... have. And power posting... wtf would that do for a community that loves quality like thegrittypast and such... I'd rather encourage more LPs in here than the internet point whores.

Just shooting an idea out there:

Only the devs should have alts for testing and making nice with us. There's no reason anyone should be able to have two, or whatever number of accounts. Post points could be limited daily. Boom, no worry about post whores that "explode" like gabara, dietcockhead1 and so forth on voat. Make a NO PORN policy, if you don't have one. that alone would keep away degenerate thoughts when thinking about phuks.

To keep yourselves here while adding more to the platform is a pickle. but possible. A Possible Pickle. if you will.

could we incentivize quality without being reactionary?

That's the million dollar question, and I believe the devs are always open to input and discussion on it. Unfortunately my skillset does not include 'coming up with ideas'. My skills lie in dismantling the ideas of others. :)

well there could at least be a policy saying our community doesn't condone it, that alone is something.

I think cultivating a community that opposes it will be more effective than any rules. Though stating it as a rule wouldn't harm anything.

Porn isn't really productive and there's millions of places to get it. I guess we'll agree to disagree.

I don't disagree with your points, I just disagree that a rule like that would solve any existing problems. Also, defining porn, context, and 'edge cases' make porn rules very difficult to evenly enforce.
