It's a nice thing to own I suppose. I would never get one unless it was really cheap, I have the entire NES library and I'm not bothered about owning anything physical.
People will pay for convenience. Buying a console with everything ready to go is easier than setting up an emulator and mapping controllers.

I never really got the hype. A used laptop that can handle a NES emulator is €200 at the very most. An USB gamepad is €15-20. Other than having a physical console and a curated list of games, I don't really see the advantage in the NES Classic Mini.
