Not just Duke Lacrosse (Fantastic Lies is on Netflix I believe, and is an excellent detailed look at it), but also the West Virginia(?) rape allegations, which could very quickly be proven false with even minimal investigation; which is exactly what happened.
But yeah, this is a non-issue, really. This is not that uncommon - my mom's third husband (not my father) called her "momma" in some circumstances too. It's a thing couples do, especially if they have younger children, as it educates them on what to call their parents subconsciously. Complete non-issue.

To be fair, Rolling Stone has an agenda (like all other news) but they aren't super credible after the Duke lacrosse story they ran with. But this was too funny not to share.
