Making a new thread in a more appropriate sub. @jobes and I have been discussing various movies for my kids to watch and thought I'd make a thread for it. My wife and I let them pick a movie for the entire family to watch every Friday or Saturday night. They've watched all the Star Wars movies, all the Indiana Jones movies, the Pirates of the Caribbean movies (oldest can't watch them at night because he gets nightmares occasionally), as well as The Goonies and some other classics. What else should be ok for them to watch?

Maybe I'm old fashioned, but the old Disney movies are always good and pretty safe until they get old enough to start looking for things that might or might not be there. Bambi is a good start.

They've seen most of the old Disney but not Bambi (my wife hates it) or Old Yeller. Some of their favorite Disney films are the old ones like Mary Poppins, Bedknobs and Broomsticks, and Robin Hood. We're willing to let them watch stuff that is for PG-13 just as long as the cursing and sexual content are minimal. My 5 year old will repeat the curse words he hears in movies. It's not like we're going to pull up Reservoir Dogs or Boogie Nights for them to watch but we're ok with battle scenes as long as it isn't over the top gore.
