reminds me of playing sim city on the snes, building all rail instead of roads was significantly more efficient.

i should give cities skylines another try, i wasn't very impressed with it when it first came out. i've been using sim city 3000 or scribblemaps any time i have got a city building/planning itch. eventually i will finish something related to post to my /s/thinktank >_>

This guy has to much free time anyway!

Cities skylines is the best thing to ever happen since Simcity 5 was a massive disaster. I'm enjoying the game a lot and the modding community is fucking awesome. (you will need to mod up to make it a serious citybuilder imo) It still has some frustrating issues with traffic and industry, but atleast the development team is actively improving and I must say their custmer communication is very good.

I get the city building itch often and like the compicated puzzles of making a big, efficient and beautifull city. Simcity 3000 was very very good but getting a bit to dated. Especially after Skylines released on X-box as well now, I'm hoping they will start Skylines 2 soon and I'm thinking that would be the standard for the next decade or such.

I am contemplating starting a series after the next dlc has landed and modders have adapted. I would plan a big European/Dutch city. I'm worried about the graphics though as i'm playing with 700+ assets on a laptop. (currently at 33 min loading time)
