Yeah I haven't come across a lot of horizontal mobo builds. I only recently discovered GPU's can be mounted sideways on a nor.al build.
I am curious though, with a vertical card, does that lead to any noticable uneven bearing wear?

I doubt it. It's a cooling fan just like your case fans just maybe designed to have a higher MTBF.

I do like the horizontal mb deck though on a larger case like the one I linked, you can put in a full server MB and have room to spare soooo....
And on that note, if the MB desk is horizontal, your video card(s) will always have great ventilation.... nice.
