It is my first ground up build. My previous experience has been replacing parts. But I've replaced a motherboard previously and correctly applied thermal paste at that time.

I guess they assumed I wasn't quite that dense, as I hadn't let anyone else on here of my plan.
I was honestly hoping for a much better reaction from the rest of the community.
