Apparently my power cord doesn't plug in as deeply as it should.

In the last month it's become warped due to gravity and now won't work unless it's held just right.

So here's my Jerry rigged solution

I've never seen a plug/socket combination which needed this. I'd replace the cord. Or the power supply. If they can't handle cable norms, they might also not handle fire safety regulations.

That's a really good point that I hadn't thought of. This set up is actually surprisingly secure. However it may very well pose a fire hazard.

I'll look into replacing it (I have no idea how to about that) until then I'll keep a close eye on it. And move my box of rifle rounds which currently rests on the shelf above it....

It's a standard cord which comes with about everything. PSU's are standardized as well.

The good thing is, that it will usually get hot with high load, like gaming and then you are there to stop a fire.

I didn't realize everything had become universal. That should make it much easier. What specifically should I search for a shorter plug lead?

And well that gives me confidence as I've been playing skyrim on ultra for the last 9 hours and its not unusually warm. So I should be good for the most part, for now at least.

What do you mean by this? Those things are extremely common in the UK.

Next time a product comes with an UK plug cable, I'll test.
