Growing up we played a lot of board games, and we had a couple that were my Dad's when he was growing up in the 50s and 60s. The only ones I remember off hand are the monopoly set (though it wasn't quite as old as the one in the article) and a game about the stock market (https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/3887/stock-market-game).
