That one's not mine but that's what it looks like.
That's the M35A2. Mine was built in 1971. It's a multifuel engine which means I can run it on gas, diesel, motor oil, vegetable oil, moonshine, whatever. Not aviation fuel though.
With 10 wheels, it goes anywhere. It doesn't get there fast though because its top speed is just north of 50 mph.
It sports a 50 gallon gas tank and gets a whopping 10 miles per gallon.
I've put mud tires on it. All 10 tires plus 2 spares ran me about $4000. Paid $8000 for it.
And man is it fun to drive. It's hilarious to watch people hug the other shoulder because they're terrified of it. It is an absolute beast on the road.
First week I had it, someone actually hit me. I lost a fleck of paint while she lost her mirror. Her excuse? I kid you not: "I didn't see you."
People don't try to cut me off on the road when I drive it. And while it's fun to run around in, it's somewhat sad that a school bus has a better top speed and acceleration curve. But then again, I'm going places school buses can't.
And it can haul. Something like, what, 5 tons on a paved road. That's 10,000 pounds, folks.
You should swing around and pick us up for a night on the town.
