It concerns me that 68% believe we should be getting more involved in Ukraine. If the West wasn't propping up Ukraine this conflict would already be over. Vietnam 3.0 I guess.
I have mixed feelings on this. I definitely don't want western soldiers deployed on the ground fighting Russia. I'm far less concerned about sending weapons and supplies.
Governments waste money all the time, so I've kind of given up on caring about the latest grift or waste since it would probably just get redirected to something else anyway (recap of the last 20 years: military contractors, bank bailouts, pharma/health companies, military contractors yet again, etc).
Russia's aggression is a huge net negative and destabilizing force for the world, and if our supplying a relative pittance of money turns it into a Vietnam quagmire for them and dissuades further aggression, that might even make it worthwhile. Their behavior certainly deserves it.
Perhaps the more examples we get of big, arrogant countries trying to invade smaller nations and expecting a cake walk and instead getting an ungovernable disaster, the better. Hopefully that lesson sinks in and makes all the psychopath leaders out there reconsider before engaging in a little foreign expedition.
Shocked that it is not lower?
