Good to see international news put some more nuance in their articles since yesterday. Guessing the regular staff took over from the interns.
I have seen this part missing in a lot of coverage in English talking media. Turkey's foreign minister threatened the Netherlands (a fucking ally) before all this bullshit took a nosedive.
Also the fact that the Mayor of Rotterdam declared a state of emergency on some parts of the city to preserve safety. The exact parts of the city where Turkey was sending this minister of family (who was told not to come out of safety concerns), while the Turkish consulate was calling on Turks to come protest. The consul mislead and lied to the Mayor of Rotterdam and fueled the safety concerns even more.
This is hilarious btw:
Article 94/A of Turkey's electoral law says "no election propaganda can take place" among Turks abroad or at Turkish diplomatic missions. That article was approved in 2008 by Mr Erdogan's AK Party.
