I saw a docu on Korean youth (they seem to have the same problem) where youngsters didn't have any interest in relationships anymore. People are to busy performing in their work to meet the peer pressure standards and lack the time. Guys have Waifu's and rather spent their life playing video games then raise a family. Think the same applies to Japanese youth.

Yup, same bullshit different year there. It's mainly due to the fact that there are not benefits for having children such as tax breaks. As well as there are a limited number of state funded daycare centers which force (usually the woman) to stay home and care for the kids which doubles down on the financial burden of having to feed and care for another human being. Instead the politicians generally cater to the older population as that is the largest and most in control of who get re-elected. This tendency to cater to the elderly also has an effect of neglecting the needs of the young who then become disenchanted and do not participate in politics. It's a vicious cycle for sure.
