Many feared dead as Haiti struck by 7.2-magnitude earthquake

Just learned of this now thanks to Phuks. There was a 7.5 in the South Atlantic only 72 hours ago.

Yeah I haven't seen or heard about it until now. That's a significant earthquake. And despite efforts I doubt Haiti has improved their infrastructure enough since last time to make it through without another mass casualties event.

Guess who doesn't give a fuck about Haiti any more? Pretty much everyone.

The last earthquake saw a huge effort for fundraising and the like. And the fallout was that a bunch of assholes skimmed money like crazy and got even richer than they were before. And when all the virtue signalling was done the Haitians were more or less in the same state that they would have been anyhow. This time around they're on their own.

I dunno, this is good fodder for the Democrats to make a ploy to give Haiti statehood or something. Sure, PR would be pissed, so they would lump them in the same bill and probably add the Samoans too.
