My father went through the process decades ago. He got his degree, applied for a visa through a power company, and took a job/sponsorship and eventually got a green card. I've gone through the immigration process myself, although for a short term (~3 year) visa to NZ. If there is a work shortage, then open up the standard program. Have people submit papers, fingerprints, get chest x-rays and blood tests and do all the standard stuff.

But you have to document people. 150 years ago you could let anyone in, but we've developed good documentation programs that do ensure people who come in are of a minimum standard when it comes to moral character.

Hopefully we won't see the 400 miles of border fence go away. Despite the orange man being an idiot, it has reduced crime on border towns on both sides of it.

My family come to the US the legal way also, unfortunately the democrats seem to think amnesty is the right thing to do.
