Carriers aren't invincible but they are fast and have good protection, we will see how it plays out. The extended range of air-launched missiles form carriers gives them a real punch. Overall I think the US Navy's LRASM is superior, it's stealth, has AI (can be fired without precise coordinates so can be used more often), and has a hefty 1000lb warhead... when war happens I bet these will be one-shot kills.
They are working on a missile that is hypersonic and anti-ship right now but it's not in production yet.

My one main hope for Trump was to actually just flat out make friends with Russia. There is no reason whatsoever for our countries to not work together and benefit each other.
Yep and they nullified his ability to do so. Peace with Russia would be so beneficial. But you have to give Russia something you can't just keep screwing them and expect them to say yeah we and our trading partners are losers.
I always laugh when they say Russia is going to invade Nato. European nato has like 5x the troops and Russia needs it's large army to guard its borders too.
Russia had developed an ICBM with the purpose of being able to change paths to avoid easy prediction and detection. I don't know if it ever practically went into use, especially given how difficult hypersonic missiles are to intercept these days.
