Israel’s ambassador in the United States, Ron Dermer, had said last month Tlaib and Omar would be let in, out of respect for the U.S. Congress and the U.S.-Israeli relationship.

Tlaib and Omar have voiced support for the pro-Palestinian Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement. Under Israeli law, BDS backers can be denied entry to Israel.

Sounds like they were allowing the visit as a 'favor' we didn't ask for.

That's called a "curtsy".

Israel knows damn well presidents come and go and they are more dependent on congress. Getting congress riled against you could be a very expensive bill in the long term. And if anything Israel's biggest weakness is their absolute dependency on the US.

It's a courtesy that would go unappreciated by everybody involved. Israel isn't going to be happy about having terrorist sympathizers running around with diplomatic immunity, and they won't be happy about Israel ~~existing~~ being in a position to grant them access.

Sympathizing with the Palestinian cause is now supporting terrorism?!?

This is a clear case of: prohibiting US lawmakers access to areas directly influenced/dependent on/by US policies and taxdollars

The Israeli propaganda machine has done their work well i see....
