TTP was very secretive so it's kind of hard to have support for legislation that grossly lacked transparency, it may have actually been good for trade. However the one nation that was not a fan of this legislation was China who felt it was an economic end run around them to broker trade deals with southeast Asian nations.

So what effects does withdrawal mean?

Wikipedia has a decent summary of the TPP

From what is being said, it would've been like the NAFTA, but for some South East Asian nations.

By itself, it wasn't the worst bill to be made, but riders added onto it caused it to be really bad. Like, corporations can sue governments because they didn't get enough profit bad.

That's a pretty comprehensive analysis of it.

In an ideal world it would be pretty legit. But unfortunately there are far too many greedy parties that would take advantage of it without caring or suffering the consequences.

Thank god TPP is finally dead.
