It remains unclear what – if any – specific documentation Rivera may have had to live and work in Iowa.
Yarrabee Farms, Rivera’s employer, issued a statement Tuesday night saying Rivera was vetted through the government's E-Verify system. However, a government archive does not indicate the Brooklyn, Iowa, farm as a participating member of the system.
On Wednesday, however, officials from the farm retracted the statement and acknowledged they did not use the E-Verify system.

As soon as they said he worked on a farm and they used the e verifying system I knew it was all a lie. Large farms rarely if ever do the right thing when it comes to vetting workers for immigration status. Anyone who’s lived near farms or in a community with a large migrant work force knows this.

Of course he is . . . .

the owner of the farm has been getting a lot of shit for having hired the guy 4 years ago
