Clauses that were dropped in last-minute political wrangling would have enshrined in law the establishment of Jewish-only communities, and instructed courts to rule according to Jewish ritual law when there were no relevant legal precedents.

This is interesting. Israel is essentially the US's darling country. I wonder how just a "closed" approach is going to be viewed in politics here and how our approach to things like borders is going to change. Because, after all, if we don't agree with Israel's approach, we can finally say "No more US money" and if we do agree with Israel's approach, we can finally say "Border wall".
