I read a book about the construction of Penn Station and the tunnels under the Hudson to bring in the trains from New Jersey. Conquering Gotham by Jill Jonnes, I believe. The workers had to basically come up slowly, like a scuba diver, due to the pressures involved. I wonder if this tunnel is simialr for the workers, or if they used pressurized suits of some sort?
