I've been waiting for something like this. AT&T has gotten too big... again.

Same here, but unfortunately this ruling would only block their growth, unlike the 1982 ruling that break broke up their telephone monopoly.

Still, I'll take what I can get.

AT&T claims that the merger would allow them to compete with data giants like Google, Facebook, and Amazon. The Department of Justice argues that AT&T would bar TW assets like HBO from being used on competing providers like Cox. DoJ also expressed concerns that AT&T would collude with the only other vertically-integrated company in the industry, Comcast-NBC Universal, to impede innovation of streaming services.
