I like RT because you know their slant right at the start.
They try to provide a good service in other areas. It helps them 'sell' to you during propaganda time. Just like BBC or Al Jazeera.
When there are no impartial voices, the next best thing is one who's biases you're aware of.
Maybe some of the newcomers are still in reddit/voat 'team' mode.

I'm going to take a guess and say it's the source that is being downvoted.
I'll also guess that the people downvoting use sites like The Guardian, and Huffington Post, and don't see the hypocrisy in themselves.
Don't let them discourage you. It's not the source that's important, only the content and validity.
