Not much they can do for drivers that already have paid such large sums. The medallions are coming down in price. It's a bad break for those that bought in at market highs. That can happen with a lot of investments.
I dislike artificial government control on business like the medallions, banning Uber is the wrong way to go imo.

This is such a bizarre issue. Yes, it is unfortunate that there are taxi drivers in this position, but what can you do about it? Ban Uber because they have a better business model?
