Good luck with that when the majority wants experienced politicians with lots of experience, meaning they're often too old to know the tech they try to regulate. There's probably still a good part of high ranking politicians who have their secretaries to print them out their email.
It still seems reasonable to not vote for anyone if no one is qualified to legislate the most important points facing citizens. Tech, obviously, is important. So is health. And maybe not breaking the Constitution.
I mean, so you can have consultants and then a second set of consultants and if the information they teach you agrees, then hey, you didn't do too bad, huh? And health... I don't know, not insurance agents despite what people would have you believe about healthcare... Doctors? Yeah, that sounds right. You can consult with doctors. And there's lawyers. Lawyers love research so they can tell you if the law you're going to put into place is unconstitutional (or otherwise illegal).
But politicians don't get consultants to educate them. They get lobbyists. And reports they don't verify. Why should any of those people get into office? They shouldn't.
Maybe stop electing people who don't know major issues.
