Aren't drones basically in use now in war zones? I can't recall the name but aren't there something similar and guys in military bunkers in Nevada control them.

Primitive drones are in use.
But it's barely begun to take full advantage. It's like looking at WWI combat planes. They were a novelty that had a few uses, but nothing compared to the Flying fortresses of doom that would show up in the next conflict.
Same example could be had looking at the tank 1.0 in WWI becoming mobile devastation by WWII.
The next generation of drones will be something big, and scary.

I think future warplanes will be drones.
It doesn't make much sense to put humans into fighter planes anymore. They are not needed and greatly limit the planes capabilities.
Think of the aerial maneuvers possible when you are not worried about the g-force turning the pilot to liquid. An ai system can also react far quicker. A human overseer will monitor and direct operations from an office, or at home.
