inflaming violence and further wrecking the chance for peace.

Really? Because it was such a peaceful and happy region until now?
Right or wrong, at least Trump is trying to do something.
What's the EU alternative? Sit and watch both sides continue to kill each other, in hopes that they eventually get tired? The worst thing that can be done, is what has been done, nothing. I'm happy to see some progress.

The Palestinians have made it very clear that they will not talk peace until after the last Jew dies. Is that what the EU wants to wait for?

Yeah I'm basically in agreement. Jerusalem was divided from I believe 1948-1967? And during that time there were two Arab-Israeli wars, and all kinds of violence in the area.

Let's not forget that in June - June! - the U.S. Senate voted 90-0 on a resolution affirming Jerusalem as the eternal capital of Israel. And now they're saying it's a bad move, that will cause violence. Well you didn't mind it in June when not one Senator voted against the resolution. But now that it's actually happening, now it's an issue. In other words, you were either a liar when you voted, or you were just going through the motions and not giving a shit.

Let's also not forget that both Hamas and The Palestinian Authority basically have lines on their own official websites saying something along the lines of "there will be peace in Palestine when every Jew is dead" or something like that. They've made their position clear. I don't mind the U.S. position being clear either - Israel is hardly perfect, but at least it's a democratic society that strives for relative peace in a violent region. It's clear between Israel, Hamas, and The Palestinian Authority which one is best for the region and the world.
