I did read it. The first sentence is in response to the article.
The rest is my opinion on the topic.
And it's very much relevant to the article. Passport and government forms should not care about you gender either.
Sex is what they need to put on passport/ID

These are people that do not have a specific sex though, which is why the classification is being changed.

Everybody has a sex. XX or XY for most people. Some surgically swap, and that's fine. The incredibly rare actual intersex individuals can have their pick, they are so rare as to not be a concern from a logistical point of view. As far as their identity goes, I don't care, and the government really should not care either. The government should be blind to things like that.
The reason a government would want to know the sex is logistics. Male and female have different needs. For example there should probably be more urinals in the mens washroom. If an intersex person shows up, and doesn't know if they need the room with more urinals, or the one with more toilets, they can use either.
There is no need for the government to care.
