yeah, i wasn't either for or against the referendum, maybe a slight lean to against just to not upset the status quo but seeing how they decided to respond to it... i'm all for catalan independence now.

Same. I didn't really have an opinion. But the response gives me chills.

We've been dealing with a similar issue in Quebec. Some of the french want to split off.
Every few decades we let them have a vote.

It would not be right to force them to stay. The Spanish government is reacting poorly.
The fact that they can't have the vote, is why I think they should.

I think this disproportioned reaction only fuels the Catalunyans more.
