It's not a complete defeat - Marine LePen could double the votes she got in the run-off compared to J.-M. LePen in 2002 (~35% to 17.8%). It's definitively a show of increased strength in the last 15 years, but in the French two-tiered presidential election system, I don't see them actually winning anytime soon.

same case as Geert Wilders tbh. He actually grew 25%. populist/nationalist is winning in the fact that they broke the "cordon sanitaire" which is a pretty big deal in Europe. Voat doesnt understand the bigger picture and nuance though so yeah i'll be joining you to bask in the salt!
