I heard a clip of him on the radio this morning. He claims they didn't feel there was enough transparency in the workout. People needed to be able to see what was going on. As if there is something nefarious afoot.

Local sports radio had taken the stance of, "what have you got to lose? sign him".
He doesn't want to play. He opted out of a contract and now this stunt for the purpose of a Nike/SJW commercial.

A lot to lose, I can't imagine any coach wants that drama in his locker room. Plus like your saying, you're wasting a roster spot on someone who doesn't have the drive to play.
